Punching and Sealing using Ultrasonic Technology
The K in Düsseldorf is the world's largest specialist trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry. 3,285 exhibitors presented a wide range of offers for the international specialist audience, from the newest technologies up to groundbreaking innovations and developments. From 16th to 23rd October 2016, 230,000 visitors from all over the world could acquire information about the newest trends in the industry.
At this year's Hermann Ultraschall GmbH & Co. KG booth, a brilliant solution for the medicine and filtration industry was presented in cooperation with Berghof Fluoroplastic Technology. The newly developed modular-punch-weld device incorporates several production steps in only one cycle; the device punches Berghof's Permeaflon® membrane, positions it perfectly and welds it directly onto the plastic component through ultrasonic technology. This reduces the cycle time to under two seconds and is therefore applicable, where Berghof PTFE membranes are used as filtration or venting solutions in serial applications.
